everyone's favorite generator, or perhaps only mine, is sitting quietly on a trailer in the shade here in st. joseph's, minnesota at jc's poppa's place. the Lister is travelling well, most often covered in a mustard yellow tarp, the artist Cristo would be proud. it has crossed the appalachians and the mississippi, survived a tire blowout and a brush with the law all unscathed. it has passed cows, genetically modified crops and at least 8 different species of roadkill. it has been passed by cranes and raptors overhead and many a semi alongside.
so many adventures still to come.

Re: Lister
Mon, August 7, 2006 - 2:11 PMit's strange to think of the lister doing anything quietly. still, it will be remembered fondly.

A brand new home
Thu, August 17, 2006 - 12:54 PMA dais has been built, protected from the elements. When, O, when will the Lister hold court again? In aligning the generator overly worn bits were discovered, new holes need to be drilled until new pieces can be aquired. Perhaps later today his dulcet tones may once again be heard.
Perhaps.

By the by,
Thu, August 17, 2006 - 12:57 PMA great sigh of relief may be uttered with knowledge that the Lister's new caretaker is worthy of such a fine engine. His enthusiasm and affection for said beast alone might be enough, but he also seems to have the skills to properly employ said engine.
Hurrah! -

That cold black pump of mine...
Sat, August 19, 2006 - 11:00 AMO, my heart is just fine. I keep it safe, protected and well hidden right here on my sleeve.
I was nervous, nervous that I would not recognise the Lister's voice. Wary perhaps that the passsage of time had dulled affections. But my fears were all for naught. When once again I heard him chug to life my heart soared. I looked around but there was no boat. I was not on the Hudson, or in the foc's'le, or walking down a dock. I was ashore, but that sound, so distinct, swept me momentarily away.
O noble (boy)captain of mine, Al needs the manuals. He is too kind and gentle to harass you daily about it, so out of the sheer grandeur of my spirit I volunteered for the job. What's it gonna take? -

Thu, September 7, 2006 - 6:34 PMWhat a pity.
Do you need more incentive? I'm inclined to say that punishment will follow if you aren't able to unearth them. Of course if I did, you'd probably stop looking. -
